Sikkim Skill University (SSU) is a State Private University at Namthang, District Namchi, Sikkim. The university was created under the Sikkim Skill University Act, 2021 (Act No. 17 of 2021). The State Act received the Governor's assent on 9 December 2021 and was published in the Sikkim Gazette on 20 December 2021.

Effective establishment and UGC status: a UGC letter from March 2022 records that SSU was established with effect from 10 January 2022 and that its name was included in the list of universities under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956. The university's own UGC Section-13 proforma also records 10 January 2022 as the date of establishment.

Current UGC compliance caution: UGC's updated list of defaulter State Private Universities includes Sikkim Skill University, Namthang. CITM therefore does not treat Section 2(f) inclusion as a substitute for checking the university's latest UGC compliance/inspection position before counselling.

2026–27 admission context: the current official university website displays Admission Open 2026–2027 and lists programmes such as B.Com, B.Sc, BCA, B.Tech, D.Pharm, B.Pharm, LLB, Diploma, MBA, MCA and MA, along with broader skill, vocational and professional areas.
